Designing and implementing a templating mechanism for a semantic wiki

Abstract

Wiki systems are generally known for promoting collaboration in creating and sharing knowledge. Having a large group of contributors with different back- grounds can easily lead to significant differences in quality. This thesis tries to serve the need for support of the various authors in creating pages with a similar structure for similar kinds of content, which will lead to a better orientation and a higher efficiency for finding the information one searches for. Derived by the requirements of semantic wikis, a templating-mechanism, including a constraint language, is developed and implemented without complicating the process of contributing. On the contrary, the authors will be able to start with an initial structure generated by the template so that it alleviates the effort needed to stay in line with the requirements.
